How to Factory Reset Your inReach Device
This guide walks you through performing a factory reset on a transferred Garmin inReach device before activating it on the EVERYWHERE platform.
What this does: A factory reset clears all previous data, pairings, and settings from your inReach device. This is required before activating a transferred device on the EVERYWHERE platform.
When to do this: Any time you receive a previously used inReach device and need to activate it on your EVERYWHERE account.
⚠️ Before you begin: This process will permanently delete all data stored on the device, including saved messages, contacts, tracks, and activities. This cannot be undone.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

From the clock screen, press the OK button to open the Main Menu.

Press the UP button to scroll to Settings.

Highlight Settings and press OK to select it.

Inside the Settings menu, press the UP button to scroll to System.

Press OK to open the System menu.

Inside the System menu, keep pressing the UP button until you reach Reset Device. (You'll scroll past Backlight and Compass Cal.)

Once Reset Device is highlighted, press OK to continue.

Use the UP or DOWN button to select Delete Data and Reset Settings, then press OK to confirm your selection.

Review the on-screen warning message ("This restores default settings and clears all data, such as activities."), then press OK to proceed.

When prompted "Delete data and reset settings?", use UP or DOWN to highlight Continue, then press OK to begin the reset.

The device will display the Garmin splash screen and then automatically transition to a loading screen. Do not power off the device. The reset may take a few minutes to complete.

- The reset is finished and your device is now prepared for the EVERYWHERE platform.
- Activation will record your first satellite track point on EVERYWHERE.
- A clear view of the sky is required to complete device activation.
