Locating a Person in Distress (For Hub Users)
When a Field User triggers SOS, Hub operators can quickly locate the Person in Distress (PID) using the EVERYWHERE Hub. This ensures you can identify their exact position, guide teammates in the field, and coordinate with emergency responders.
1. Using the EVERYWHERE Hub
-
Log in to the Hub at www.everywhere-hub.com.
-
Go to the Tracking page.
-
Ensure that both the Latest Point (Blue) and Emergencies (!) display groups are checked.
-
Search for the PID in the search bar (top-center).
-
In an SOS scenario, the PID is automatically highlighted with two red rings on the map.
-
The person’s latest coordinates also populate when you select the device track point on the map, along with a timestamp.
2. Multi-Channel Notifications for PID
-
Hub-configured SOS alerts automatically include the PID’s coordinates.
-
Notifications can be delivered via SMS, email, WhatsApp, or voice call.
-
Each message provides a direct link to the PID’s location on a map.
3. Supporting Teammates in the Field
-
Teammates in the field with inReach devices or the EVERYWHERE App also receive SOS alerts.
-
Hub operators can guide nearby teammates to the PID by sharing coordinates or map references.
-
This enables immediate peer support while professional responders are en route.
✅ Tip for Dispatchers: Always verify that SOS alerts are visible in the Hub and that multi-channel notifications are reaching the correct recipients. Keeping emergency contacts and notification groups up to date ensures faster coordination during a real event.
