Setting up a brand new device instead of a transferred one? Start with the Onboarding Guide for Transferred Devices.
Part 1: Set up the inReach device
| Step 1: Activate on EVERYWHERE | Bring the device onto the EVERYWHERE platform so it reports to your Hub. Do this outside with a clear view of the sky. Read: How to Activate Your Transferred inReach Device → |
| Step 2: USB Sync (OPTIONAL) | Connects data and information from the Hub to the newly registered device. Read: How to USB Sync Your Device to the Hub. |
Part 2: Set up the EVERYWHERE App
| Step 3: Download the App | Download the app, then sign in with your configuration key. Most first-time login problems come from an expired or mistyped key. Read: How to Download the EVERYWHERE Companion Mobile App → Read: How to Gain Access to Your Configuration Key in the EVERYWHERE Hub → |
| Step 4: Enable Bluetooth on the inReach | Bluetooth is off by default on many transferred devices. Turn it on from the device menu before you try to pair. This step is included in the pairing guide below. Read: How to Bluetooth Pair Your inReach with the EVERYWHERE App → |
| Step 5: Pair the inReach with the App | Pairing is what unlocks Intelligent Routing, so messages travel over cellular or Wi-Fi when they are available and fall back to satellite when they are not. Read: Companion App Bluetooth Pairing Guide → |
